Can a borders gift card be used an Barnes & Nobles now?

I heard somewhere that, now that Borders is closing, Barnes & Nobles is going to honor Borders gift cards at their store...and I assume with online purchases. I, being the avid reader I am, have several unused ones(Borders) and a B&N Nook and I wanted to know if I could use the card to buy ebooks on my Nook. Any info about this? Thnx to all!!!
