Is academic philosophy dead?

It seems to me that a lot of recent philosophy (like from the 1970's onward) is essentially a bunch of impressive sounding albeit meaningless verbiage thrown on a page to support a rather unremarkable tautological thesis. This doesn't however stop a bunch of acolyte philosophers from fawning all over the work and throwing words like 'revolutionary' and 'genius' around. Anyone else notice this?
