My nook is frozen-what do I do?

my Barnes and Noble NOOK is frozen on the screen where it shows/says Your NOOK is starting up. it's been this/that way for 2-3 months. does it have a reset button, or how do I reset it? I see a tiny hole between the headphone port and the USB port.
