I was wondering how ppl steal from barnes n noble?

I work here &I've catched ppl trying to steal our electronics but idk how they steal the books?, thts if they do. Jw. Like the barcodes are on the book, do they scratch it off with a coin or use sharpie? Or the alarm doesn't go off?
