Which one should i read first ? Vampire Diaries or Gossip Girls?

I got these book at Barnes & Noble but i dont know which one to read. People have had good and bad opinions on these two book but i want to have my own. Which do you think is better if you have read both before ? or if you had to choose between these two which one will it be ? Thx <333
